Human Geography : Environment and culture



Discuss and describe the major concepts and key Principles of Human Geography including place, space, scale and landscape. Appreciate the diversity of the culture background and places. Approach problem solving from a geographic perspective by understanding the role location plays.


Cartographic Techniques.               (Major)


Develop hands on skills in Diagrammatic representation of data.

Comprehend thematic mapping techniques, its cartographic representation and interpretation. Take up Cartographic as a Profession. 


Physical Geography – Lithosphere (Geomorphology)                                    (Major/ Minor)


Understand the internal structure of the earth, rocks that compose it and forces within the earth that act to deform it. Learn about the contribution of ancient Indian scholars in the development of physical Geography.  Analyze how the natural and anthropogenic operating factors affect the development of land forms. Understand about the denudation processes that unceasingly act at the earth’s surface to shape land forms and reduce relief. Assess the role of structure, stage and time in shaping the land forms.

The Economy of the world is changing in recent times. The changes in Primary, secondary and tertiary stage of the economy is dynamic in nature. In view of this, the outcomes of this course are to integrate the various factors of economic development to acquaint the student with the dynamic aspects of economic geography.


Geography of  India; Physical & Resource

The outcome of the course is to familiarize the student with a Physical setting and resource base of the country in its totality. To Prepare the students for understanding the region as a dynamic entity emerging from the interaction and interrelationship of the physical and socio-economic element of the regional structure over time.


History of Geographical Thoughts


To introduces the student to the Philosophical and methodology foundation of the subject and its place in the world of knowledge.

Geography of India : Economy and regions

The outcome of the course is to familiarize the student with Indian economy. To Prepare the student for the understanding the region as a dynamic entity emerging from the interaction and interrelationship of physical and socio-economic elements of the regional structure over time.


Geography of Environment

The outcomes of this course are to bring awareness among the students about the environment, ecology and development. It stresses the need for better management of various hazards and pollution through appropriate methods and conservation of resources.


Practical Geography-1

Practical Geography-2

After completing this Papers, Student will be able to learn morphometric analysis, Construction of column, bar, circle, spherical , block diagram and computer cartography . Learn the Principles of plane table survey and field survey by plane table.





This Paper on Oceanography and deals with the coastal Processes and describe the vast and diversified resources the ocean hold. The student will be familiar with composition of oceanic water as well as landforms and Processes associated with them.


Urban Geography

The Students completing this paper will develop the understandings of nature and scope of urban Geography and urban systems. The Students Learn about the urban morphology, land use models and urban policy and planning.


Geography of Tourism

To Familiarize the student with aspects of tourism which have a bearing on subject matter of geography.

To orient the student to the logistics of tourism industry and the role of tourism in regional development.

To understand the impact of tourism in physical and human environments.


Agriculture Geography


The Student completing this paper the student learns about nature, scope and contents of agricultural Geography Determinants of Agriculture land use and land capability. The student also understands the Agricultural typology and agricultural regions. Regional pattern of Productivity in India. Green revolution and its impact and agricultural policy in India.


Practical Geography-1


The Student learns about various types of Quantitative methods and construction of age pyramid, band graph, triangular diagram, climograph, hythergraph. The calculation of crop combination using methods of weaver and Doi and agricultural Productivity by using Kandall’s ranking coefficient methods, Efficiency index and carrying capacity methods and interpretations of Geological Maps are learnt along with major regions of country and state.


Practical Geography-2


By Studying this course the students get acquaint with the field survey and study in geography. Chief elements of field study and data collection in field survey. The student also understands the reports based on Geographical excursion, Prepare a Critical field survey  reports and Problems of Preparing the report.

The course is meant to provide an understanding of spatial and Structural dimensions of population and their emerging issues. The course further outcome at familiarizing the students with global and regional level Problems and also equips them for comprehending the Indian situation.


Regional Planning & Development

The students understand and evaluate the concept of region in geography and its role and relevance in regional Planning. To identify the issues relating to the development of the region through the Process of spatial organization of various attributes and their inter relationship.

To identify the cause of regional disparities in development, Perspectives and Policy imperatives.



The outcome of this paper is to Appraise the students of the elements of the biosphere interrelationships among the living organisms within the environment and the importance of conservation of biosphere and biodiversity.
